Footage of a furious Gary Neville making a swift departure from the Anfield gantry has now emerged after Liverpool won the Premier League title.

Manchester United legend Neville was on co-commentary duty for Sky Sports as Liverpool clinched the title and, somewhat understandably, was not best pleased to see the Reds win the league.

The 50-year-old won eight league titles with the Red Devils as Sir Alex Ferguson ‘knocked Liverpool off their perch’.

And an unimpressed Neville can be spotted making the swiftest of exits less than 14 seconds after the final whistle as Liverpool were officially crowned champions.

Not wanting to stick around for the celebrations, the former England international had a face like thunder as he looked to move past LFC TV commentator Steve Hunter - though he did share a quick joke with LFC TV co-commentator, Liverpool legend and ECHO columnist John Aldridge on his way.

I think the Liverpool fans won’t let me get out of that commentary box.”

Meanwhile, of Liverpool being about to win their 20th league title to go level with United, he said: "It is a massive deal when you think of the league title and the importance of a league title.

"You think of the great managers that Liverpool have had like [Bill] Shankly, [Bob] Paisley, Kenny Dalglish, Joe Fagan and obviously at United, talking about the importance of your bread and butter winning the league title.

"The accolade of the most successful club, you could debate it maybe when Manchester United were on 20 titles and obviously Liverpool do have more European Cups but, once Liverpool get level with Manchester United, the painful thing to say is that unfortunately the debate is over for a period until United become successful again and win leagues.
