Chelsea lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening, and Enzo Maresca is looking for an explanation for why Jonathan Tah wasn’t sent off.
Following the defeat in Munich, Todd Boehly came under fire from Jamie Carragher for Chelsea‘s poor performance since he took over ownership of the club in 2022.
After the poor defensive showing in the opening Champions League game of the season, Wesley Fofana needs to return to the Chelsea defence if things are going to improve.
Meanwhile, Chelsea continue attempts to terminate Raheem Sterling’s contract as the Englishman’s exile is showing no signs of being brought to an end.

Chelsea fans were left in an uproar on Wednesday evening after Bayern Munich centre-back Jonathan Tah was not sent off for a blatant punch on Joao Pedro.
Enzo Maresca was irate in his post-match press conference, suggesting referees need to see serious injury before they will show a red card.
Maresca said: “The referee said to me because it wasn’t hard or aggressive enough.

“So to give you the red card, they need to see blood or they need to see something.

After four Premier League games and one Champions League outing, Chelsea’s form this season is beginning to look worrying.
The Blues are fifth in the Premier League, but given the way Manchester City and Newcastle United have started the season, this is no bragging right.
Maresca is understandably frustrated after the 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, but he needs his players to share in the responsibility.
Chelsea face Manchester United at Old Trafford next, which will be a good measure of how they will be able to bounce back from adversity this season.
With Ruben Amorim at risk of losing his job, Chelsea cannot afford to be the team that offers the Portuguese manager a lifeline.
