Jürgen Klopp admits Alexis Mac Allister is continuing to leave the Liverpool coaching staff speechless in training as his debut campaign goes from strength to strength.

The midfielder arrived in a $44m (£35m/€41m) deal from Brighton in the summer and has hit top form at the perfect moment.

Mac Allister has scored four times in Liverpool's last five matches including a stunning strike in the midweek win over Sheffield United, that took his side back to the top of the Premier League.



Klopp admits that was not a one-off and says the Argentine is regularly doing similar things on the training ground.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Klopp said: "How can you not love a player or boy like him?

You watch training sessions and the coaches look at each other and go 'wow, what was that?'

"How he interacts with the other boys, how he took the South American outfield players under his wing naturally without telling them what to do, it's just how they came together.

"I loved it from the first moment we met before we signed him.

They all eat and breathe football and that's so good."

Klopp went on to address some teasing from within the Liverpool squad that Mac Allister is his new favorite player, adding: "Of course I love him.

It's not about being perfect and it never was."

Liverpool.com says: Mac Allister has been one of the signings of the season in the Premier League and a big reason that Klopp's side is right in the title picture.
