Man City supporters are now confused and concerned for James Trafford’s development after the latest goalkeeper bombshell.
Fans were emotional to see the shot-stopper return to the Etihad Stadium just two years after joining Burnley, arriving on a £27million deal [BBC Sport], and beating Newcastle United to his signature.
The 22-year-old has proven himself at Turf Moor, keeping a record 29 clean sheets in the Championship last season, with fans sure that his arrival meant the end for Ederson as Man City’s first choice.
Now, however, those same fans are concerned about the new signing after Fabrizio Romano’s latest update on Pep Guardiola‘s transfer targets.

Taking to X (12 August), the Italian transfer specialist wrote: “Manchester City made contact with PSG to ask for Donnarumma deal conditions.
PSG‘s current request is around €50m.
“That is deemed too high, and the deal would only be possible if Ederson leaves,” as City reportedly target the 26-year-old ‘keeper, who currently holds the title of Champions League winner.
Football Insider revealed earlier on Tuesday that Man City were attempting to beat Man United to the goalkeeper’s signature, with multiple other sides also keeping tabs on the situation.

Despite being linked with one of the most in-form shot-stoppers in world football, the majority of supporters are worried about Trafford and whether he’ll be forced to sit on the bench next term.
One supporter wrote that Guardiola would be “wasting a top talent”, while another suggested that Trafford might regret his decision to snub Newcastle in favour of an emotional return.
The majority of fans have been left baffled by the latest transfer news, and if the rumours are true, Trafford may also be wondering why he made the decision to re-sign this summer.
