Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham was subject to plenty of controversy after numerous controversial refereeing decisions.
VAR was the centre of attention at Stamford Bridge with the BBC’s Jonathan Pearce exclaiming: “The game has gone.”
The first incident came as Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz trod accidentally on the toes of Trevoh Chalobah in the build up to Josh King’s opening goal that was eventually disallowed by VAR.
Two incidents then followed in the build up to Chelsea’s second goal as Fulham believed Joao Pedro had hand balled the ball in the buildup, before Alex Iwobi was fouled, before Chalobah’s cross was deflected by the arm of Ryan Sessegnon.
Neither incident was flagged on the VAR review as being foul play and Enzo Fernandez dispatched the subsequent penalty securing all three points for Chelsea.

Pedro had given Chelsea the lead in first half stoppage time from a corner, and the referee was welcomed off the pitch by an irate, Marco Silva who was aggrieved at the decision to disallow King’s goal.
Full-back Antonee Robinson took to Instagram after the match to say: “If they can check something for five minutes and still get it wrong, then what’s actually the point?

Robinson was responding to a post from the Premier League saying: “PGMOL acknowledge VAR made a mistake disallowing Fulham’s goal against Chelsea.”

Silva has struck an incredible tune out of a Fulham side that have hardly done anything but stagnate during this transfer window.
The Portuguese head coach has been outspoken on his desire for more signings and that wish may come true soon.

The Cottagers are in a deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Kevin, a move that would see the Brazilian become Fulham’s only outfield additions this summer.
Silva has done a remarkable job with Fulham, and has seen his side compete with all three of their Premier League opponents so far this season and any additions would only help him to improve their fortunes this season.
