Bayern Munich are feeling confident of agreeing a deal to sign Luis Diaz according to reports in Germany.
The Bundesliga champions are preparing an improved offer after their opening approaches were rebuffed.
Bayern’s initial €67.5 million bid was turned down, but the German giants are now poised to table a package in the region of €75, potentially plus add-ons, in a decisive push for the 28-year-old.
Despite Diaz’s wishes of a move away from Anfield, Liverpool have maintained a firm stance on the Colombian, valuing him closer to €100 million and rejecting approaches from both Bayern and Barcelona earlier this month
Nonetheless, the Reds are understood to be “willing to negotiate” should Bayern’s improved offer meet their valuation threshold,
And it seems that Vincent Kompany’s side want to make it work.
German outlet Sport BILD have reported that Diaz is the “highest priority” at Bayern Munich, and a deal could be ironed out within the next fortnight:
“The transfer of Luis Díaz (28) enjoys the highest priority at FC Bayern.
The Bayern management already received the “yes” to a change during the Club World Cup: Bayern already knew before the PSG game (0:2) that he wanted to come.”
“The fact is: Bayern is very optimistic that the deal can be completed in the next 7 to 10 days!”
Interestingly, it is also suggested that the Bavarian giants could include a sell-on clause if it lowers the transfer fee:
“Various models are being discussed?
One is to assure Liverpool of a resale clause in the contract with Díaz.”
“Means: If he is sold to Saudi Arabia in 3 years, for example (Diaz is to get a four-year contract), then Liverpool can participate.”
