The Reds have signed the Hungary international in a £40m deal from Bournemouth.
His switch to Merseyside marks the second time he has been signed by Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes, with the Scot previously bringing Kerkez to Bournemouth in a £15.5m switch from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.
And the 21-year-old has admitted Hughes played a decisive role in his decision to join the Reds as he opened up on the talks he held with both the Liverpool sporting director and head coach Arne Slot before completing his ‘dream’ transfer.

“Probably I knew maybe I would say in May already, coming close to the end of the season, that it's starting to get more serious,” he revealed.
I really knew when I talked to him and Richard that this is it for me, so that was my decision.
“We talked about the tactics and the plan and where he sees where I can improve and where I can help the team.
“Obviously when (the) coach comes also and talks to you, it's a big thing, it's a big sign of respect.
“For me, there were no second doubts then that I want to go somewhere else.
It was always Liverpool.”
Kerkez will link up with his fellow Hungary international and close-friend Dominik Szoboszlai after completing his move to Liverpool.
And after putting pen to paper with the Reds, the left-back revealed what his compatriot has told him about the club.
“He's a really, really, really close, really good friend of mine, and we talk already every second or third day,” he said.
“It's good to have a friend and it's only going to make it easier for you, he's going to show me around everything, so it'll be good to have him here.
“(He told me) just that when you come here, it's the top of football.
“You're going to see the people and everyone around the club – from, I don't know, food and training and from the kitchen and everything that's professional, the physios – that you're going to feel a completely different level, the highest level in football.
“And obviously that I should come.
And the Hungarian is looking forward to linking up with the pair at Anfield as he shared his dream to win the Premier League and Champions League with the Reds.
“Yeah, (it’s) really exciting (to play with Wirtz and Frimpong),” he told club media.
“It's all top players and you just can't wait to go on the pitch with them and start to do one-twos and combinations and all of that.
“So, I'm really looking forward to pre-season and then, of course, really looking forward to August 15.
