Liverpool take on Crystal Palace in their final game of the Premier League season today (Sunday, May 25).

After the match the new champions will be presented with the trophy.

Liverpool sealed the title with four games to spare after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at home on April 27.

But they have had to wait a month before getting their hands on the silverware.

The visit of FA Cup winners Palace kicked-off at 4pm.

After the game finishes, the Reds players and staff will go back to the dressing room to allow a stage to be constructed on the pitch for the official Premier League trophy presentation.

Any individual end-of-season Premier League awards would then be presented on the pitch.

Mohamed Salah is set to win both the Golden Boot and Playmaker honours.

The full Liverpool squad will then gather in the tunnel while the Premier League trophy is brought out on to the pitch.

That is due to take place 10 minutes after full-time.

Reds head coach Arne Slot will then be introduced, followed by his players, who will collect their individual title winners medals.

Soon after that, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk will emerge from the tunnel before walking to the stage and lifting the Premier League trophy.

Van Dijk will be presented with the trophy by Reds legend Alan Hansen.

Hansen, who won eight league titles for Liverpool during his playing career, was the last club captain to hold aloft the English top-flight trophy in front of match-goers, back in 1990.

The 69-year-old, who fought off a serious illness in June of last year, has been invited by the club to present Van Dijk with the title alongside Mark and Jo McVeigh, who lost their son Owen to leukaemia at the age of 11 in December 2015.

Mark and Jo started the Owen McVeigh Foundation after the passing of their son and have since worked for more than a decade to create memorable experiences for families through the oncology ward at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, often with the private help of Reds skipper Van Dijk.

Approximately nine minutes after the trophy lift, a lap of honour will begin toward the Kop, which is expected to last around 20 minutes, and will conclude back at the Main Stand tunnel.
