Ruben Amorim’s days at Manchester United are looking increasingly numbered after their loss to city rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

Man United’s 3-0 loss to Man City sank the club to a 33-year low, with Amorim taking the brunt of the blame in the post-match analysis.

Amorim has come under increasing scrutiny for his side’s performances this season, with BBC Sport pundit Nigel Reo-Coker suggesting he’s “ruining himself” following Man United’s loss to Man City.

A brace from Erling Haaland wowed Gary Neville with the Norwegian adding to Phil Foden’s header, securing all three points for the Cityzens.

Twelve months ago, during the October international break, Sir Jim Ratcliffe was courting Amorim as his main target to take over at Old Trafford from departing boss Erik ten Hag.

Now, Indy Kalia is reporting on X (formerly Twitter) that Manchester United are eyeing the October international break as a window in which to sack the Portuguese head coach.

Kalia also suggests that his sacking could come sooner if results continue to underwhelm with matches against Chelsea, Brentford and Sunderland to come before October’s break.

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner look set to be United’s main targets, according to Kalia.
