The excitement is already building ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign, with the 2021/22 fixture list to be announced shortly.

Manchester City strolled to the Premier League title last season, winning by 12 points, but with Liverpool and Chelsea finishing strong, it's shaping up to be another enthralling campaign.

The fixtures for the 2021/22 Premier League campaign will be officially announced at 9am BST on Wednesday, June 16.It will come the day after Scottish Premier League fixtures are announced, and just over a week before the English Football League fixtures are detailed on Thursday, June 24.As stated, the Premier League is back to its more familiar schedule, with the 2021/22 campaign getting underway on August 14.Importantly, each and every club will begin their campaign on the same weekend, as opposed to last season, where Manchester United and Manchester City started late due their involvements in European competition.

They are the only English team needing to qualify for Europe with City, United, Chelsea and Liverpool all sealing spots in the Champions League group stages, which begin on September 14.Meanwhile, Leicester and West Ham qualified for the Europa League group stages, starting on September 16.Each year, the fixture list announcement not only allows clubs to look ahead and start their preparations, but also tells us exactly when the big games will fall.

Well, as mentioned, we can be hopeful that there will be fans at Premier League stadia right throughout the campaign.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters confirmed in May that he expects stadiums to be full next season, but that will depend on whether restrictions do ease on June 21 or not.

Regardless, the window will close at 11pm BST on August 31, which of course, means Premier League teams will still be able to sign players once the 2021/22 campaign has kicked off.
