Liverpool players look set to scoop plenty of individual awards this summer after a stellar season ended in them winning the Premier League.

The Reds blew the competition away this year, comfortably topping the table and securing the title with four games to spare.

As a result of their success, Liverpool stars are likely to dominate when the gongs are handed out.

On Friday, the first of those accolades was attributed to Mohamed Salah.

Having had a quite ridiculous season for the Reds, Salah was named as the FWA Footballer of the Year.

According to the Football Writers’ Association official website, Liverpool’s Egyptian King won with 90 per cent of the vote, securing the biggest margin of the 21st century.

That leaves 10 per cent unaccounted for, though, and with some votes left to sift through, it has also been revealed where Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk ended up in the running.

Having scored 28 Premier League goals and registered 18 assists, there was never going to be a different outcome here.

Journalist Ian Ladyman recently claimed Man United captain Bruno Fernandes should have won instead of Salah, but that felt like a lame attempt to be contrarian and nothing more.

If anyone had a chance against Salah, though, it was Van Dijk.

The Dutchman has been ever-present for Liverpool this season, not missing a single minute as the Reds were crowned champions.

In the end, Van Dijk couldn’t get anywhere near Salah, but the 33-year-old still managed a respectable second place.

Liverpool target Alexander Isak underlined his quality with a third place finish, while Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is the only other player named, settling for fourth.

Salah made history with his win, securing the FWA award for the third time.

This equalled Thierry Henry, who is the only other player to claim a hat-trick of victories.

Salah will still hold out hope that he can win the biggest of all individual prizes and be named as the 2025 Ballon d’Or in December.

In the meantime, the 32-year-old is a virtual shoo-in for the Premier League awards which are set to be handed out soon.

The PFA Player of the Year is the biggest, with Salah aiming to win out for a third time.

The No.

11 won both the FWA Footballer of the Year and the PFA award in 2017/18 and 2021/22 and looks almost certain to make it a hat-trick of doubles.

Salah will also be hoping to win the Premier League Player of the Year for the first time since 2018.
