Arne Slot’s side have won four and lost one of their pre-season fixtures, the latest of which was a double header against Athletic Club at Anfield on Monday.

The Premier League champions could field around £250million worth of new talent at Wembley with Slot still plotting one more blockbuster signing.

Meanwhile, FA Cup winners Crystal Palace make a swift return to Wembley - the scene of their greatest achievement.

The Eagles’ 1-0 win over Manchester City in May handed them their first major trophy and European qualification for the upcoming season.

Reds boss Slot showcased the depth of talent he has at his disposal in Monday’s wins over Athletic Club.

Teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha, Ben Doak and Harvey Elliott all found the net for Liverpool in the first of the two friendlies.

Wantaway striker Darwin Nunez was also on target in what could be his farewell appearance at Anfield with Al Hilal well positioned to lure the Uruguayan to the Saudi Pro League.

Mohamed Salah is in line to start at Wembley and he could be joined by new summer signing Hugo Ekitike.

The Frenchman kicked off his partnership with Salah in perfect fashion with an assist in the second match against the Spaniards on Monday.

Cody Gakpo was on target twice for the Reds and could keep his place following the departure of Luis Diaz last week.

Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong are set for their competitive debuts at Wembley.

Slot will assess the fitness of Virgil van Dijk, Allison, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley who all missed Monday’s friendly.

Alexis Mac Allister is also a doubt through injury.

Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk was absent through illness while Alisson left the Asian tour for a personal matter with Georgian shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili set to deputise.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner still has Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze at his disposal despite both players being heavily linked with moves away from Selhurst Park.

However, Glasner could field new summer signings Borna Sosa and Walter Benitez.

Slot was delighted with his side’s attacking output against Athletic Club but has warned his side must improve defensively from set-pieces against a Palace side capable of hurting them.

"I think in both games we created a lot of chances so that's very pleasing to see because we definitely didn't score every chance we had," Slot said.

"But then to concede, especially in the second game, two set-piece goals, that's not what you want – especially if you play Crystal Palace who are a team that are very strong on set-pieces."
