Florian Wirtz to Liverpool is shaping up to be one of the biggest stories of the summer.
Bayer Leverkusen, who are holding out for a fee close to £126 million, are also interested in taking one of Liverpool’s young talents as part of the deal.
The 22-year-old Wirtz has made it clear he wants a move to Anfield.
Liverpool are confident a deal can be struck soon, even if it means breaking the British transfer record.
But with Leverkusen open to negotiating beyond just cash, a player-plus-cash agreement is now on the table.
And no, this isn’t fantasy football.

Two names have come up in talks — Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah.
According to reports from Germany, Leverkusen admire both players and have floated the idea of including one of them in the deal.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg stated:
“Bayer 04 Leverkusen have the idea to include Harvey Elliott or Jarell Quansah in the deal for Florian Wirtz.”
Nothing is set in stone yet, but the discussions are alive and moving fast.
Elliott had a quiet season, with just two league starts.
With Joe Gomez likely leaving and Konate’s contract situation unclear, Liverpool may hesitate to lose another defender.
One thing’s for sure — if Leverkusen want to make Wirtz’s move to Anfield easier, they’re willing to call for a barter from Merseyside.
