Jurgen Klopp is set to depart Liverpool this summer, and several members of his backroom staff will follow suit.
Assistant managers Pep Lijnders and Peter Krawietz, as well as elite-development coach Vitor Matos, are among those expected to leave the club.
Andreas Schlumberger, the head of recovery and performance, is also reportedly due to depart.
Consequently, there will be a significant turnover in the Reds’ dugout next season, with the club actively seeking more than just a new manager.
Negotiations with Feyenoord have intensified as Liverpool aims to appoint Arne Slot as Klopp’s successor.
The 45-year-old has emerged as the preferred candidate to take over at Anfield upon Klopp’s departure.
If Slot does join Liverpool, there is speculation that he would be interested in bringing assistant Sipke Hulshoff with him to Merseyside.
Who is Sipke Hulshoff?
Hulshoff currently serves as Ronald Koeman’s assistant manager with the Netherlands and also works alongside Slot at Feyenoord.
He has been closely involved with players such as Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch during his time with the Dutch national team.
Hulshoff’s coaching journey includes a successful stint at Cambuur, where he and Slot led the team to a third-place finish in the Eerste Divisie after initially taking over as interim coaches.
Their collaboration at Cambuur demonstrated their ability to achieve success together, with Slot later moving on to become an assistant at AZ Alkmaar.
Should Slot and Hulshoff indeed join Liverpool, it wouldn’t be the first time an international working relationship has been replicated at Anfield, highlighting the club’s commitment to building a cohesive and successful coaching setup.
Virgil van Dijk also spoke highly of Hulshoff during their first international camp together last year.
“Of course I didn’t know Sipke Hulshoff before this,” Van Dijk told Voetbal International.
“You have to get to know each other.
“liWe’re only four days into it, but it’s a good start.”
