Liverpool is considering swooping for Charlie Cresswell, a young English defender who currently plays for French club Toulouse.
The Reds are in the market for a new center-back following Jarell Quansah's switch to Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the summer, which left Arne Slot with just three senior central defenders in Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Ibrahima Konate.
Give Me Sport reports that Liverpool scouted Cresswell on several occasions last season, with scouts seemingly impressed by what they saw.
Liverpool has not firmed up its interest yet, but Cresswell is said to be very much on the Reds' list of center-back targets for the remainder of the window.

Cresswell, 22, was born in Preston and came through the Leeds academy, joining the Elland Road club in 2013 and staying there until 2024, when he moved to Toulouse.
Cresswell started 29 of Toulouse's 34 games in Ligue 1 last season as the southern French club secured a 10th-placed finish.
Liverpool is currently facing some uncertainty in the center-back position.
Gomez last played in a competitive match almost six months ago, Konate is out of contract at the end of the season, and Van Dijk has just turned 34, although the latter's level shows no sign of dropping any time soon
Another player Liverpool has been linked with, rather more strongly, is Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.
However, it emerged earlier this week that Tottenham remains interested in signing Guehi, after failing to secure a deal to sign the England center-back during the January transfer window.
Liverpool has also been linked with Marc Guehi
Guehi's profile has risen dramatically over the last year, after he played a key role in England's run to the final of Euro 2024, while he also helped Palace to win the first major trophy in its history last year as the Eagles won the FA Cup.
Tottenham already has four senior center-backs in Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso, and Radu Dragusin.
And the London club's interest in Guehi could suggest that one of them may leave this summer.
Romero, who has fewer than two years remaining on his contract in North London, has been linked with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Telegraph reports that Liverpool remains the favorite in the race to sign Guehi, with the Reds keen to recruit a new central defender before the window closes.
