Merseyside Police have formally charged Paul Desmond Sanders Doyle, 53, of West Derby, following a shocking incident that marred Liverpool Premier League title bus parade on Monday.
According to an official police report (via BBC), the police charged Doyle with seven serious offences, including:
Two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Two counts of causing unlawful and malicious grievous bodily harm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Two counts of attempted unlawful and malicious grievous bodily harm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Merseyside Police are working with the Crown Prosecution Service to review a large volume of CCTV, mobile phone footage, and witness statements.

“Merseyside Police is determined to gather as much evidence as possible to ensure that every avenue is explored.
Now that Paul Doyle has been charged, we ask that the judicial process be allowed to continue without any speculation online or elsewhere that could impede the pursuit of justice for all those affected.”
The Crown Prosecution Service echoed these sentiments, urging the public to avoid speculation to protect the integrity of the legal process.
The incident on Water Street injured a total of 79 people, including children.
As of the latest update, seven remain in hospital receiving care from NHS staff.
Doyle reportedly drove a Ford Galaxy into the crowd during the parade.
Police believe he gained access to the restricted route by tailgating an ambulance through a temporarily opened roadblock.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional footage or information to come forward via the Major Incident Police Portal, accessible on the Merseyside Police website.
