Liverpool have made some big moves this summer but they might still benefit without having to lift a finger.
The Reds have found themselves embroiled in the middle of the most dramatic transfer sagas for quite some time, with the Alexander Isak outcome still yet to be decided.
It is clear what both teams and the player himself want to happen, but with so little left of the transfer window, someone is bound to not get what they want.
It has certainly been a story like no other, but Eberechi Eze has tried his best to one-up Isak, with his potential transfer also being rather intense.
The Englishman never went as extreme as forcing a move, but instead he has swapped one rival for another, with the winger changing his mind last minute to snub Tottenham for Arsenal.
Liverpool fans may think ‘what does this have to do with us?’, but in fact, Eze’s move might just have a knock-on effect that means the Reds benefit massively.
Spurs have wanted an attacking player all summer, with Eze always one of the players towards the top of their list.
And, after James Maddison tore his ACL in pre-season, the Lilywhites needed one more than ever, hence why they stepped up their efforts to sign Crystal Palace’s star man.

However, with that falling through, they are back to square one and still badly need a replacement, with Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott perhaps the best option for them.

The 22-year-old is almost guaranteed to depart this summer as long as a fair offer arrives, with this expected to be in the region of £40m-£50m.
And, with Spurs willing to pay £60m for Eze, it would seem a no-brainer to now focus on Elliott instead as they will also save some money, something Daniel Levy loves to do.
He is also a similar profile to Maddison and Eze, while also being a lot younger than both of them, suggesting it might be a smarter move than many Spurs fans realise.
It has been on the cards all summer and many will be surprised that it has not happened already, but either way, Elliott must depart Anfield for the sake of his own career.
No Liverpool fan wants to see him go but he is deserving of regular minutes, and he should get that given how many clubs are interested in signing him.
RB Leipzig are the closest to getting him, though, and this is expected to accelerate in the coming days, although Spurs now know better than anyone that a late swoop can change a player’s mind.
Tottenham would have to act quickly but there is definitely worse moves they could be making, with Elliott likely preferring to stay in England anyway, especially if he can be offered Champions League football.
