The ECHO analyses what Frimpong would offer Slot's team as they prepare to go again as champions in 2025/26.
Why would Liverpool sign Jeremie Frimpong.
But as well as become more mature."
And finally Frimpong would be classed as a homegrown talent if returning to England as he was a product of Manchester City's academy, spending over a decade there, meaning he can be included in the eight required in Slot's squad for 2025/26.

In theory, this would take some of the creative burden from Salah, who is soon to be 33, and allow him to take up space closer to the goal where he is most effective.
Next winter, the club also face another spell where their prized Egyptian will be away playing for his country at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), so there is the possibility of Frimpong taking an advanced right-sided role in his absence if Federico Chiesa has not found his footing by then.
How does Jeremie Frimpong compare to other right-sided Premier League full-backs and wing-backs
As already established, by bringing in Frimpong in Alexander-Arnold's place, Liverpool would be covering more losses in creative areas - ones in which the Leverkusen No.30 has outshone many Premier League counterparts.
In 2024/25, the 24-year-old has managed 66 shot creation actions (SCAs) and 116 crosses in total.
Compared to Alexander-Arnold he is not far behind, with Liverpool's current man having 95 SCAs and 145 crosses and at two years his junior, Frimpong certainly has room to bump up those already impressive numbers.
But it is also a vast increase on Conor Bradley's 16 shot creation actions and six crosses, albeit the Northern Irishman has only played 633 minutes of Premier League football.
Only Tottenham Hotspur's Pedro Porro (107 SCAs, 194 crosses) beats Frimpong and Alexander-Arnold in both fields.
The Spurs man and the Reds' No.66 are the only two to beat Frimpong outright for sheer volume of crosses too.
And finally, added to the same pair only Aaron Wan-Bissaka of West Ham (88), Daniel Munoz of Crystal Palace (83) and Manchester United's Diogo Dalot (65) outperform Frimpong for SCAs this season.
