French outlet L’Équipe suggested the Reds are tracking Barcola, who has slipped to fourth-choice in PSG’s attacking line behind Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue.

He reported that the club “do not want to obstruct the pathway for Rio Ngumoha,” which seems to be the key reason for passing on Barcola.

While the French winger makes headlines, Ngumoha is quietly making his case with the boots.

Arne Slot described him as “showing good things every time in pre-season.”

With Liverpool also weighing up striker options — including Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko before the latter chose Manchester United — the club may be choosing long-term stability over another big-money move.

And that includes giving young talents like Ngumoha a proper shot.
