And, as the summer transfer window is now open, the rumour mill has started to turn with Liverpool now having even more of an incentive to try and relieve themselves of the attacker before the start of the 2025-26 season.
A lot of transfers have three or four instalments across a couple of years to help with the Premier League’s PSR rules, with Liverpool being one of the many teams to use these to get deals over the line.

A Bola add that Nunez has already earned Benfica €85million (£71.7million), but as he is ‘expected’ to exit Anfield this summer, the fee will likely stay at that price.

Nunez’s time at Liverpool has been a bit like Marmite; fans have either loved him or loathed him.
This inconsistency, coupled with the form that players such as Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo found themselves in at Anfield this season, have meant that he’s not played as much as he’d have likely wanted to.
