Liverpool-linked left-back Milos Kerkez has unexpectedly withdrawn from Hungary’s national team training camp.
This sparks further speculation that his move to Anfield may be edging closer.
Hungary head coach Marco Rossi confirmed on Thursday that Kerkez would not feature in Tuesday’s friendly against Azerbaijan (via Liverpool.com).
“Milos Kerkez and Barnabas Varga will not be on the pitch on Friday due to various problems,” he said.
Kerkez, currently valued by Bournemouth at around £45 million, had already missed Hungary’s recent 2-0 defeat to Sweden.

Hungary has issued a statement explaining its absence from the upcoming fixture.
Journalist Ben Boasck reported:
“Milos Kerkez leaves the Hungary camp for ‘private’ reasons and won’t play vs Azerbaijan on Tuesday.”
Notably, Kerkez was present at Hungary’s training base in Budapest on Thursday but did not take part in training sessions with his teammates.
Sources suggest Liverpool and Bournemouth made the decision to avoid injury risks during this crucial stage of transfer talks.
As Liverpool and Bournemouth advance talks, both clubs are taking extra care to protect the player’s fitness with the move close to completion.
While official confirmation of a transfer is still pending, Kerkez’s early departure from international duty suggests that the move could be entering its final stages.
Bournemouth recently secured a significant sale by sending Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid.
They are under no pressure to offload the left-back, but the player’s desire for the Liverpool switch has been well documented.
As Liverpool continues to reshape their defence this summer, Kerkez remains one of the most closely watched targets.
Fans will now be watching closely to see if the next update brings the confirmation they’ve been hoping for.
