Florian Wirtz won possession in the final third for Bayer Leverkusen 35 times this season whereas Rayan Cherki managed 14.
The midfielders in Arne Slot’s team are programmed to cover a lot of space and work hard in the middle of the pitch and Wirtz will fit right into that.
Wirtz is deployed as an attacking midfielder and boasted double digits in goals and assists across all competitions this season as he won his second Bundesliga Player of the Season award in a row.
