Will be awarded the title? Liverpool supporters have been embroiled in a discussion after it emerged on Monday that the Citizens had allegedly broken Financial Fair Play regulations, following a four-year investigation from the Premier League. As a result, some Liverpool fans have wondered if the Reds will retrospectively be awarded the Premier League titles for the seasons they narrowly lost out to Manchester City. So, will Liverpool be awarded the Premier League title?

Well, it seems as if Liverpool would be awarded the Premier League title for recent years in which they’ve finished second to Manchester City, based on what happened in Italy back in the 2005/06 campaign.



Therefore, we would expect the Citizens to be treated in similar fashion to Juventus – if not a more severe punishment – with Liverpool awarded the 2013/14 and 2018/19 Premier League titles after finishing second in those campaigns. It is also possible that Manchester City won the 2021/22 Premier League title through illegal measures, although that will require a fresh investigation from the Premier League.
