But aside from the immediate reaction against taking Premier League games abroad, there are a number of logistical challenges too.

Liverpool supporters will get another chance to see their team this summer, with the tour taking place in America for the first time since 2019.
A change in FIFA rules would certainly put Premier League games in the USA back on the agenda for discussion.
