The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning ahead of Saturday’s Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton, warning there is a small chance of flooding.
The Reds host the Blues at Anfield in the lunchtime kick-off at 12.30pm this weekend.
Arne Slot’s side currently sit top of the table, having won all four of their Premier League matches so far, while David Moyes’ men sit sixth following two wins, a draw and a loss.
Ahead of this weekend, the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning and a number of alerts in the north of England which could impact Saturday’s match.

Rainfall is set to spread northeastwards on Saturday and will become persistent and at times heavy.
Meanwhile, from mid-Saturday onwards, there is set to be increasingly strong gusty winds and a chance of some thunder.
They warn there is a small chance that heavy rainfall may cause some transport disruption and flooding.
There is also a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses, a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings, a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services, while spray and flooding could also lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
Merseyside is one of the areas set to be affected by the weather conditions, with the warning starting at 9am on Saturday and lasting until 6am on Sunday.

Last season’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park had to be postponed due to weather conditions as Storm Darragh battered the United Kingdom.
Initially scheduled for December 7, 2024, the clash was rearranged for February 12, 2025, where a James Tarkowski stoppage-time strike earned Everton a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
