This summer is going down as an all-time transfer window for Liverpool.

The Reds have been conducting extensive business in the transfer market this summer, already securing the services of world-class talents including Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, alongside goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and full-backs Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.

And now the summer recruitment drive has taken another exciting turn with the Premier League champions moving swiftly to complete the signing of 17-year-old striker Will Wright from Salford City.

The Merseyside club’s academy has secured one of England’s most promising young talents after successfully outmaneuvering Arsenal in a late hijack of the transfer.

This week, DaveOCKOP.com exclusively revealed that Liverpool have agreed to pay Salford City £200,000 upfront with additional performance-related bonuses that increase the figure to £400,000.

The add-ons are envisaged for the short term and are easily achieved, meaning the League Two side is happy they will receive the maximum amount.

Wright has penned a three-year contract running until June 2028 and will link up with Liverpool’s Under-21 squad under the management of former Wales boss Rob Page.

The deal represents a significant coup for Liverpool, who moved decisively when Arsenal’s pursuit stalled despite the Gunners having verbally agreed terms with both club and player over two weeks ago.

DaveOCKOP.com can now confirm that Wright has signed his Liverpool contract after he passed his medical in London on Tuesday afternoon.

The documents have now been completed and the move is official.

The teenager and his family were attracted by Liverpool’s clear development pathway and recent track record of promoting academy graduates to first-team football.

His development plan could see Wright feature in EFL Trophy matches, FA Youth Cup games, and Premier League 2 fixtures as he progresses through the system.

He turned down the Arsenal move despite the North London side reaching an agreement with Salford City.

Wright plays as a centre forward and he has scored more than 40 goals for Salford’s youth and reserve teams.

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, Wright combines physical presence with intelligent movement in the penalty area.

Although still just a teenager, Wright has already featured in four senior matches for Salford City.

He made his first-team debut in January against Manchester City in the FA Cup.
