Wolves are preparing themselves for life without Jorgen Strand Larsen amid Newcastle’s interest in the striker.

Strand Larsen was a key man for the Molineux side last season, notching 14 goals and four assists in 35 Premier League appearances.

The 25-year-old’s efforts, coupled with the performances of former star man Matheus Cunha kept Wolves clear of relegation danger last term.

However, after Cunha joined Manchester United, Newcastle have eyed Strand Larsen as Eddie Howe battles to bolster his frontline.

Thanks to Strand Larsen’s vital goal contributions last term, Wolves will be unwilling to sell their man unless they can source a worthy replacement.

However, Fabrizio Romano revealed via X on Saturday, 9 August: “Matthis Abline, attracting interest from Paris FC, Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolves ahead of final weeks of the window.

Crucially, Alexander Isak is not for sale amid Liverpool’s interest in the Newcastle hotshot who has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best strikers.

However, the Magpies are still intent on signing a new forward this summer, and have missed out on high-profile targets such as Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Bryan Mbeumo, and Hugo Ekitike.

The North East outfit were also keen on Benjamin Sesko, but have witnessed the former RB Leipzig star join Premier League rivals Manchester United instead.

Despite Isak’s prolific presence, Newcastle require greater strength in depth as they attempt to compete in the Champions League alongside their usual domestic duties.

Now that Sesko has joined Man United, the St James Park side’s advances for Strand Larsen have become even more vital, as the Premier League season fast approaches.

Meanwhile, Strand Larsen’s performances in Wolves colours show that he can be an asset for Howe’s ambitious side.
