Wolves are already looking ahead as Newcastle United push to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen just months after signing permanently at Molineux.
The 25-year-old’s loan spell in the Premier League was extremely successful last season, linking up brilliantly with Matheus Cunha as he notched 14 goals and five assists in 38 appearances.
Despite his teammate’s big-money move to Man United, the striker is still proving his worth, scoring twice in 17 minutes as a substitute as Vitor Pereira‘s side came back to beat West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, 26 August.
That likely added a few million pounds onto his price tag this summer, and it is now understood that Newcastle are set to make an increased offer for Strand Larsen of around £60million for his signature.
Wolves only signed Strand Larsen permanently this summer due to reaching targets in his loan deal, but at £23million, it appears to be an absolute steal for the Old Gold [BBC Sport].
He could now be sold to Eddie Howe‘s team, who are desperately searching for an answer to the Alexander Isak fiasco, and the 25-year-old could be the perfect solution this summer.

However, Football Insider revealed in May that Pereira was set to make demands to the Wolves board ahead of the summer transfer window, so going into the new season without a striker is not an option.
That would explain why the Old Gold are set to bid €20m (£17.2m) for Genk’s Toluwalase Arokodare, having already reached an agreement with the Nigeria international over a five-year deal.
With 23 goals and five assists in 45 appearances across all competitions last season, the 24-year-old centre-forward is unlikely to be seen as an understudy, and much rather a replacement for Strand Larsen.
He scored twice in two Champions League qualifiers during the 2023/24 campaign, which would see him bring European experience to Molineux as well as his poaching skills in front of goal.
While this campaign has been much slower for Arokodare, with one goal in his first five games, all of which have been from the bench, that should not put Wolves off a move for him this summer.
Strand Larsen was relatively untested at the highest level, but after making the move to the Premier League, he absolutely thrived, and could be playing Champions League football with Newcastle next.
Arokodare, at just 24 years of age, could be the next best striker for Pereira to take a chance on, and with the cost of just over £17m, it seems like a no-brainer, especially if their current striker is leaving.
