Wolves 'set for triple exit decision' as Vitor Pereira makes way for new arrivals

Tue 26 August 2025 12:00, UK

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira is set to facilitate the exits of Fabio Silva, Hwang Hee-Chan, and Sasa Kalajdzic to make room for new signings before the transfer window closes.

The Molineux club have endured a tough summer so far, as former star player Matheus Cunha joined Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have bid for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, who was a key asset in the Premier League for Pereira’s men last term.

Furthermore, Wolves have had a poor start to the top-flight campaign, as they were hammered 4-0 by Manchester City on the opening weekend, before being beaten 1-0 by Bournemouth on Saturday, 23 August.

Wolves’ defeat to Bournemouth highlighted that the West Midlands outfit have a lot of transfer business to complete before the window closes on Monday, 1 September.

Pereira steered his side away from relegation danger last term, but a season of struggle seemingly beckons for the 57-year-old this time around.

Meanwhile, The Guardian revealed on Monday, 25 August: “Pereira is hopeful of offloading Fabio Silva, a £35m signing in 2020, on a permanent deal, while Hwang Hee-Chan and Sasa Kalajdzic could also move before the deadline.”

A central defender, with the club pushing for Girona’s Ladislav Krejci, a central midfielder and a versatile forward are priorities.”

Former Southampton and England star Matt Le Tissier exclusively told Football Insider that he thinks Pereira could walk away from Wolves amid a lack of backing in the transfer market.

While Cunha joined Man United, the Wolves boss has also lost players such as full-back Nelson Semedo, who joined Fenerbahce on a free transfer, and Pablo Sarabia, who left Molineux to move to Qatari side Al Arabi.

Therefore, to avoid a potential relegation battle, the West Midlands club must allow Pereira to sign the players he wants before 1 September, including Girona defender Krejci.

The 26-year-old proved his class last season, making 37 appearances for the Catalonian club, including seven Champions League outings.

Meanwhile, Wolves will hope to earn their first win of the season when they face fellow strugglers West Ham United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, 26 August.

Their clash with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, 30 August, also presents Pereira’s men with an opportunity to claim a victory.
