However, the Champions League is just as prestigious to some and it is a trophy that Reds fans are very fond of given their history in the competition.

Now, after already getting their hands on the league title, they will of course want to win it again, although Gakpo has also revealed their strong desire to pick up a seventh European trophy as well.

“And then we lost against PSG, who are a very good team.

“They played a very good game in Paris, I think we played a very good game at Anfield, so it could have gone either way but they won and they also won the Champions League.

Not only is their starting XI one of the strongest in the league, maybe even the world, but they also have strength in numbers, something that will only increase if they bring in Isak and another centre-back.

It will certainly be a big ask to win everything available to them, but based on the way Liverpool have been moving this summer, it suggests that this is their intention and a genuine possibility.
