Jarrod Bowen’s disappointing opener cancelled out by Andy Robertson, before an Alphonse Areola own goal and a Michail Antonio header rounded off the scoring.

In truth, there weren’t many performances for Liverpool to be happy with.

Jurgen Klopp did praise Jarell Quansah after game, but we didn’t think the youngster was especially impressive.

The one man who was worthy of highlighting was Robertson.

But according to journalist James Pearce after the game, the 30-year-old might have suffered a knock during the match.

Robertson was unquestionably Liverpool’s best player against West Ham.

The way he revitalised the team at the start of the second-half drew praise on commentary from Ally McCoist and he even got himself a goal.

Obviously, the Reds have been poor of late with too many players far below par all too often.

But Robertson has generally been an exception to that rule.

The Scotland captain was the only reason Liverpool didn’t lose by more against Crystal Palace two weeks ago.

As Pearce noted on X, both the left-back and Harvey Elliott were spotted limping post-game.

“Andy Robertson and Harvey Elliott both limping through the mixed zone,” wrote the journalist.

There was no update on the game from Klopp over whether Robertson had suffered a knock.

However, speaking in his post-match press conference the manager did allude to the fact that the full-back had been struggling somewhat to finish the game.

“We could have changed Robbo because you could see that he was on the edge, but it’s a bit tricky,” said the German.

No further news from Klopp should be taken as a positive where injuries are concerned, so it seems likely to have merely been a knock for Robertson.

He and his teammates will now have more than a week to recover, with Liverpool’s next game coming on Sunday May the 4th.
