David Moyes looked for controversy where there was none during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Everton on Saturday.
The Toffees boss became the manager with the outright longest winless streak at Anfield after another defeat against the Reds.
Everton put up a spirited fight against their more illustrious neighbours, but paid for a poor first-half in which Liverpool put them to the sword.
While the result was a fair one, Moyes was not happy after the game, fuming at the officials for awarding only three minutes of added on time.
Although it is extremely arguable whether his team would have scored had there been more time allotted, the Scot huffed and puffed about supposed refereeing conspiracies at Anfield.
Until Monday, Arne Slot had remained quiet on the furore whipped up by Moyes’ words, but the Liverpool head coach has finally answered back to his opposite number.

Slot brought up the notion of the added-time controversy unprompted during an interview with Liverpoolfc.com about Tuesday’s game against Southampton.
Confirming that Liverpool will rotate their team for that match, Slot weaved his answer into a rebuttal aimed at Moyes.

“Yes, there will be a completely changed line-up,” said the Dutch coach.
“But that our players are fit, that’s clear.
Because a lot has been said about the added time against Everton but I would have loved to play on three or four seconds more because we were in a five-v-two situation at that moment.
“Now that tells you, I think, all about the mentality we have, always wanting to score a goal,” he added.
“The three minutes were completely correct, by the way, because there were only three moments where a substitution was made.
Where in many other games when we need a goal, there’s a lot, a lot, a lot of time-wasting going on, I can tell you.”
As well as answering back to Moyes’ drivel on Saturday, Slot also took the chance to look ahead to a new season of Carabao Cup action, beginning this week.
The 47-year-old admitted that it will be a good chance to see some players who had not featured too much up to this point of the season.
“These are the players that need a game and we’re happy that we have one,” said Slot.
“If we wouldn’t have had one, we probably would have arranged a friendly in this week for these players because they need to play games as well to keep them ready whenever we need them.
“We’ve used quite a lot in the last three games because we thought we needed to keep this energy throughout all the three games – but not all of them.
