Liverpool supporters were left thrilled by a key element of Jordan Henderson’s performance for Brentford in their 3-1 win against Manchester United.

An Igor Thiago double and a late Mathias Jensen goal cancelled out Benjamin Sesko’s strike for the visitors to plunge Ruben Amorim’s managerial future into fresh doubt.

On Saturday, 27 September, Brentford hosted Man United at the Gtech Community Stadium in their third home game of the Premier League season.

Thanks to Liverpool’s victory over Everton in the Merseyside Derby, Arne Slot’s men sit top of the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Reds faithful retain a strong affinity for former captain Henderson, who notched an assist for Brentford against Man United by playing a long ball to Igor Thiago.

Taking to X, one Liverpool fan wrote: “Wow, Jordan Henderson still got it.”

Another added: “Jordan Henderson, still destroying Manchester United.”

One Liverpool supporter said: “My captain.

Jordan Henderson’s brilliance”, while another commented: “So here’s to you, Jordan Henderson.”

Another Liverpool fan proclaimed: “Jordan Henderson.

Class is permanent.“

Brentford endured a tough summer transfer window, losing former star players Christian Norgaard, Mbeumo, and Yoane Wissa to Arsenal, Man United, and Newcastle United, respectively.

Former boss Thomas Frank also left West London to join Tottenham, while Brentford opted to sign Henderson.

The Bees’ decision to sign the former Liverpool captain raised eyebrows, as he endured a brief stint with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ettifaq before failing to win a Dutch league title with Ajax.

Therefore, there were questions about whether the 35-year-old could still produce the goods in the Premier League for Brentford, who appeared in dire need of a new star man, having lost so many key players.

But now that Henderson has produced assists against both Chelsea and Man United, Keith Andrews will feel vindicated for his decision to sign the Sunderland academy graduate.

The Bees will need the England international to be at his best once again when they face Manchester City in their next game.
