Jack Grealish has been tipped for a pivotal return to the national team after impressing in his opening fixtures for Everton.
The Man City loanee has been in sensational form since joining the Toffees at the start of the 2025-26 season.
The former Aston Villa playmaker has notched four assists in two starts in the Premier League with sources telling Football Insider that Everton are considering a permanent deal for Grealish.
However, England manager Thomas Tuchel left Grealish out of his recent squad for the World Cup qualifiers which has prompted ex-Tottenham striker Darren Bent to provide his stance on the 29-year-old’s position for a national team recall.

Speaking on talkSPORT (3 September), co-presenters Andy Goldstein and the former Villa forward were debating the German’s squad selection for the upcoming qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
When comparing players for who would be best for Tuchel’s system, the talkSPORT host asked Bent: “You got a game tomorrow, who’s first on the left for England?”
To which the former Sunderland frontman replied: “Game tomorrow, Jack [Grealish].
What I’ve seen from Jack this season.
Yeah, like, wow.”

Football Insider verdict
Grealish openly came out to see that in the last few years at City he had not been enjoying his football after an incredible home debut against Brighton.
It has been a pleasure and one of the early success stories of the season to see the 29-year-old playing with a smile on his face.
Pep Guardiola clearly did not trust the Englishman in his setup and the freedom given by David Moyes is obvious to see as he releases the left-winger from his shackles.

If the midfield maestro maintains his form at Everton, there is no reason why he cannot force his way back into the England team.
Tuchel will be keeping a close eye on the Villa academy graduate and likely omitted him from this international squad to give the number 18 more time to acquire match fitness.
In previous tournaments, Grealish has thrived and Three Lions fans could see the Toffees new talisman boarding the plane to North America next summer.
