Liverpool have significantly offset their record summer spending through strategic player sales that have generated over £200 million in revenue.

The biggest departure was Luis Diaz’s £65.5 million move to Bayern Munich, marking one of the club’s most lucrative sales in recent history.

Darwin Nunez’s exit to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal brought in £46.3 million, helping Liverpool recoup a substantial portion of their initial £64 million investment in the Uruguayan striker.

The club also secured £35 million from Bayer Leverkusen for academy graduate Jarell Quansah, representing excellent business for a player who developed through their youth system.

Additional sales include Trent Alexander-Arnold’s £8.3 million move to Real Madrid – a modest fee due to his contract situation – and goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher’s £12.5 million transfer to Brentford.

Liverpool teenager Lewis Koumas has become the subject of an intense Championship transfer battle, with both Birmingham City and Wrexham AFC leading the charge for his signature.

The 19-year-old Wales international, who impressed during his loan spell at Stoke City last season, is attracting widespread interest as Liverpool consider his next move, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Wrexham, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, are believed to be frontrunners in the race for Koumas, with the Welsh connection proving particularly appealing.

The ambitious Championship newcomers are reportedly willing to offer a permanent deal for the versatile forward, who scored six goals in 49 appearances for Stoke during his debut season in senior football.

Birmingham City, where NFL legend Tom Brady holds a minority stake, are also pushing hard for Koumas and similarly prepared to make a permanent offer.

According to the report, Liverpool rate Koumas more highly than Bobby Clark, who departed for RB Salzburg in a £10 million deal last year.

This means any potential exit will be worth more than Clark’s transfer to Austria.
