Chelsea supporters have all flocked onto social media following the stunning news of Tottenham attempting to hijack a move for Xavi Simons.
Enzo Maresca’s side have made some incredibly exciting moves in the transfer market, with Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, and Jorrel Hato arriving at Stamford Bridge over the last few weeks.
Of course, with multiple high-profile signings, exits are expected ahead of the 1 September deadline, with Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, Tyrique George, and Nicolas Jackson tipped to leave Chelsea.
However, that has not ruled out the prospect of making further signings for a chaotic 2025/26 campaign, with both Premier League and Champions League football to consider.

Mick Brown told Football Insider that Chelsea are trying to offload Nkunku in order to accelerate a move for Simons, but it could be too little too late for the Blues after the latest update.
It has become apparent that Tottenham are attempting a late hijack for Simons‘ signature, and given the forward’s record at RB Leipzig, it is no surprise to see the amount of interest emerging this summer.
James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski have both been handed setbacks on the pitch, seeing them spend extended spells on the sidelines, so a move for the Netherlands international makes total sense.

He currently boasts 22 goals and 22 assists in 78 appearances for the Bundesliga giants, and with another five goals for his national team, a battle appears to be developing in London for his signature.

RB Leipzig have been preparing for the star’s exit over the last few weeks, but with only a few days left until the 1 September deadline, those in Germany might have been hopeful of him staying now.
The Lilywhites have already lost out to Eberechi Eze, who has signed in as a new Arsenal player, with a different move for Como’s Nico Paz seemingly stalling this summer.
Reacting to the news of Spurs potentially trying to beat the Blues to a marquee signing, multiple supporters have been absolutely sure that Simons “only wants Chelsea”.
Two supporters laughed the transfer rumour off completely, while another is “calling cap” on the news being shared by the Telegraph’s Matt Law.
