Rumoured Liverpool transfer target Xavi Simons has dropped a possible hint about his future following RB Leipzig’s final game of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season.
The campaign in Germany concluded over the weekend, with Leipzig suffering a dramatic 3-2 home defeat to Stuttgart.
The result left them seventh in the standings, narrowly missing out on European football for the first time since their promotion to the top flight in 2016.
Simons, who has been linked with several Premier League clubs over the past 12 months, played the full 90 minutes against Stuttgart and opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes.
However, it’s been a mixed campaign for the Dutchman, who suffered an ankle injury that required surgery back in October and only returned to action in the new year.

Taking to social media this week, Simons shared a defiant message with Leipzig supporters, vowing the club will get back to where it belongs.
Reports suggest it could take a fee in the region of €80m (£67.3m) to prise him away this summer, ensuring the Bundesliga outfit turn a profit on the €50m they paid to sign him permanently from Paris Saint-Germain 12 months ago.

However, the Reds have been more heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, who now finds himself at the centre of a transfer tussle between Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
