During the summer transfer window, Chelsea re-called Marc Guiu from his loan with Sunderland, thanks to Liam Delap’s injury and Nicolas Jackson’s move to Bayern Munich.
However, the Black Cats have earned four points from their last two Premier League games, with a win over Brentford and a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.
The goalless draw with the Eagles on Saturday, 13 September, saw Sunderland new boy Geertruida make his Mackems debut as a late substitute.

The Wearside outfit subsequently bounced back with a 2-1 win over Brentford in their last game before the international break, thanks to late goals from Enzo Le Fee and Wilson Isidor.
However, question marks still remained over how Sunderland would fare in their second away fixture of the season against Crystal Palace.
Le Bris has achieved a vital feat by guiding the Black Cats to their first away point of the season, via a goalless draw with the Eagles.
Their point at Palace will give Sunderland the confidence they need ahead of upcoming trips to Nottingham Forest and Manchester United.
