Newcastle stars were quick to react after Bruno Guimaraes shared his latest update at the club following a difficult start to the new season.
Newcastle have suffered a tough start to the new Premier League campaign, picking up just two points in three games, as they currently sit 17th.
They were held at Elland Road and Villa Park with goalless draws, whilst Rio Ngumoha scored in stoppage time to earn all three points for Liverpool at St James’ Park.
Despite the poor run of results, Guimaraes has continued his impressive form for the Magpies, playing in all three fixtures and scoring once.
His contributions have now been recognised, with the club rewarding him for his standout displays throughout August in their latest social media post that quickly drew reactions from teammates.

Newcastle confirmed on their official Instagram page that Guimaraes has won the club’s August player of the month.
The post quickly drew reaction from teammates, with Joelinton, Lewis Hall, new signing Yoane Wissa and Guimaraes himself all engaging with the announcement by liking the post.

Guimaraes played a crucial role in Howe’s midfield last season during a campaign that saw the club lift the Carabao Cup and secure Champions League qualification.
He has continued to show his influence, proving why he remains one of the Magpies’ most important players.
Last season also marked his most productive campaign in terms of goal contributions, as he recorded five goals and ten assists in all competitions.
His performances over the years have inevitably gathered interest with Man City and Arsenal showing interest in Guimaraes, but the Brazilian midfielder has continued his journey in Tyneside.

Newcastle’s summer had been overshadowed by the saga surrounding Alexander Isak, who pushed to leave Eddie Howe’s side to join Liverpool.
Guimaraes appeared to respond to Isak’s statement before his exit, where the Swede claimed “promises were broken” in his attempts to force an exit, and proved successful.
While the Magpies sanctioned a deadline day exit for their striker, they may need to act quicker to secure Guimaraes’ future.
With his stock continuing to rise and with his contract expiring in 2028, Newcastle could be forced to act sooner rather than later to avoid a repeat of the Isak situation.
