Former Manchester City and England defender Joleon Lescott reckons Arne Slot should drop striker Hugo Ekitike in favour of Alexander Isak.

But Lescott remains convinced he will find himself on the substitutes' bench and make way for Isak up front, rather than featuring in Slot's starting XI ahead of Cody Gakpo on the left flank.
"You [Ekitike] can be on the Liverpool bench.
If you're playing in Champions League games, it's not like, 'Oh, I'm seen in the second team.'"
Asked if Isak would start both fixtures, ex-City and Aston Villa man Lescott was convinced Slot would rotate his side and retorted: "If you're missing league games to play in the League Cup, then I understand you may feel like that.

When questioned whether Isak would feature in both matches, former City and Aston Villa defender Lescott remained adamant that Slot would shuffle his squad and responded: "No chance."
Following a string of elite signings secured during the summer window, Lescott believes the Reds must compete for numerous trophies this campaign, stating: "They have to win something.
