Liverpool continue to work on deals this summer and made some big decisions on Tuesday.

The Reds are currently in Japan as they prepare to play their final game of the pre-season tour of Asia, but that does not mean they are not still keeping an eye on the transfer market.

They still feel a few signings short despite spending almost £300m, and Liverpool likely know this as they are still aiming to recruit some new talent.

Tuesday has seen them do this as well as there have been updates on some departures, although their transfer activity is really set to ramp up once they touch back down in England.

Here is what happened on Tuesday.

The Reds are about to have another striker on the books, albeit for the academy, with Salford City’s Will Wright completing his Liverpool medical.

Despite previously ending their interest in the 17-year-old, the Reds decided to come back in for him and hijacked Arsenal’s move at the very last minute.

Wright, who scored 50 goals at academy level last season, is expected to continue his development with the Under 21s, who are now managed by former Wales boss Rob Page.

Liverpool are keen to shift some players out the door to make some money but also some more room in the team, and Federico Chiesa is one of those expected to depart.

However, the Italian is making this more difficult than the Reds perhaps first thought, with Chiesa only wanting a return to Italy, despite plenty of interest from elsewhere.

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are the latest club to register their interest, but the winger has already rejected an approach as he wants to play in the Serie A again.

To do this, however, Chiesa would have to take a significant pay-cut, with the majority of clubs worried about his fitness issues.

On a rather quiet Tuesday by Liverpool’s standards, the saga of Alexander Isak to Anfield goes on.

Not too much has happened in terms of its development, apart from the fact Fabrizio Romano has given Liverpool a 60% chance of signing him this summer.

This will be music to Reds fans’ ears, but there is still a lot of work to do, with this one likely to gain traction in the coming weeks.

Elsewhere, Liverpool have a new secret weapon that they might deploy next season, while Wataru Endo might be used in a completely different position.
