Liverpool supporters have once again become used to seeing new signings announced by their club.
After a very quiet 18 months following the 2023 summer window, supporters could have been forgiven for forgetting the feeling of a new player joining the Reds.
But 2025’s edition has returned that sensation and then some, with Liverpool now having signed three high profile new players.
Milos Kerkez became the latest of that trio as he officially completed his move to Anfield on Thursday afternoon.
Kerkez’s transfer had been held up having initially been slated for a Tuesday announcement.
But Liverpool eased any worries by confirming the transfer a couple of days later.
And after sitting down to speak to LFCTV for the first time, Kerkez highlighted the importance countryman Dominik Szoboszlai played in his move.

Having been teammates in the Hungarian national team for several years, Kerkez and Szoboszlai are good friends.
As a result, it was inevitable that Liverpool’s No.
8 would play some role in selling the Reds to his younger colleague.

Asked what that was during his first interview with the club, Kerkez revealed that Szoboszlai had given him a glowing review of his time with Liverpool.
“He’s a really, really close, very good friend of mine,” said the left-back.
“Every second or third day we are talking, he’s good to have as a friend and he’s going to make it easier, showing me around, everything.
It will be good to have him here.”

“He said just that when you come here you’re going to see that it’s the top of football,” Kerkez added.
Everything is professional and you’re going to see the highest level in football, and obviously that I should come, now here I am!”
As with all of Liverpool’s new additions this summer, intrigue will continue over what shirt number Kerkez will be handed.
Neither Jeremie Frimpong nor Florian Wirtz are yet to be given an official squad number and after his announcement, Liverpool said it will be the same for their new left-back.
With Kerkez’s number ‘to be confirmed later this summer,’ supporters will have to wait to order their new shirts.
