Tim Sherwood has given his honest opinion on Richarlison’s attitude following being substituted in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Burnley.

Thomas Frank‘s Premier League reign in north London started with a bang after Tottenham breezed to a comfortable victory over newly promoted Burnley.

Brennan Johnson put the cherry on top with his solo effort, but it was the Brazilian marvel Richarlison who grabbed the headlines with an acrobatic brace.

However, his stunning display was overshadowed slightly by his actions coming off-the-pitch which caught the eye of former Tottenham manager Sherwood.

The Brazilian was clearly unhappy with being substituted, appearing to look moody and frustrated as ex-Aston Villa boss Sherwood commented on proceedings (4.30pm Sky Sports Soccer Saturday): “He’s fine, he took a knock.

“He’s come off the pitch, I think it would have been planned at this time to give [Dominic] Solanke some minutes.

They’re going to need Solanke as well as Richarlison to help score the goals that they need to take them where they want to be.”

The pundit then focused on the South American’s displeasure at coming off, saying: “He’s come off the pitch but you wouldn’t have guessed he’s scored two, one spectacular goal and the all-important first goal, because he’s come off the pitch and he hasn’t got the chance of a hat-trick.”

Capping off his immature antics, Sherwood added: “Unfortunately you’re not Harry Kane yet son, get yourself off and rest.”

Known for being a passionate hot-head, the antics of the ex-Watford man are no surprise, yet the striker was on-fire today, leading the line expertly.

The injury in pre-season to Solanke came at the optimal time for the number nine and he has certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons (pardon the pun) when it comes to Frank’s team selection moving forward.

For the Englishman, his niggling injuries have hampered his shot at pushing into the first-team and now must reckon with the possibility he does not feature from the get-go week-in-week-out.

This is of particular concern considering the World Cup is edging ever closer and the former Bournemouth man will be wanting to get regular minutes in order to book his place on the plane.

Thomas Tuchel likely has three or four striker spots available and, with Harry Kane’s selection a 99% guarantee, the ex-Liverpool youngster must prove himself to be better than the rest.

However, if Richarlison continues in the same rich vein of form, the number 19 can kiss goodbye to his World Cup dreams.
