I guess there's probably only [Dominik] Szobozslai and maybe [Hugo] Ekitike who can sort of come out of this season with any credit for Liverpool. I think the rest of them have been really disappointing by some of their very high standards, and that's why they're in the position they are.“Next season for Slot and Liverpool because of the very high standards they have set previously, I think they're going to have to challenge for the title again, but it's pretty clear they need to spend again, and pretty big, in several positions.
But he's not the only one.“It's been a really poor season from what they achieved last year, and I guess depending how much they spend, and what recruitment they get in will dictate how they get on next season. But for Liverpool’s standards, they'd have to be challenging for the Premier League again.”Next up for the Reds is the visit of Chelsea on Saturday, with the possibility that a top-five finish could be secured if results go their way.
