Liverpool will be without both Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo for Sunday’s match against Manchester City after Andoni Iraola ruled both players out.The pair returned early from international duty, and though there had been hope that they might be ready in time to face City, Iraola has confirmed that neither will play.There had been worry over centre-back Jeremy Jacquet as well, but the Liverpool head coach thankfully said that the Frenchman had been passed fit ahead of the match. Asked about the 21-year-old during Friday’s press conference, Iraola also praised his contribution, before confirming that he is fine for Sunday.“He’s fit, he’s ready to go,” the Spaniard said.
“He should be fine. We need to get through tomorrow, but he’s fine.”Unfortunately, the same is not true of Isak or Gakpo, who Iraola ruled out and did not give a clear timeframe on when they will return.“Alexander Isak and Cddy Gakpo will not play the game, they are not ready,” he said.
