Liverpool has been linked with a move for Antonio Nusa in the summer transfer window, who is a close teammate of Erling Haaland for the Norway national team.Antonio Nusa has made his thoughts clear on Erling Haaland(Image: (Photo by Rich Graessle/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images))Antonio Nusa previously claimed that Erling Haaland is better than both Liverpool stars Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike when given a comparison between his Norway international teammate and strikers across the world. It comes as the Reds have been linked with a deal to sign the 21-year-old winger, who has emerged as an option at RB Leipzig at half the price of former target Yan Diomande. The 21-year-old has plenty of quality and potential, which Premier League teams have tried to secure in the past, with Brentford and Chelsea eyeing a deal in previous transfer windows without any success. Now, Nusa could be ready for his move to England.
Links to Liverpool come with hopes of providing a long-term option to the wide areas, particularly on the right after the exit of Mohamed Salah this summer. The RB Leipzig ace is a different profile to Salah, however, especially if he plays on the right flank, as he is right-footed and wouldn't be able to cut in on his left as often. It would, however, likely see him combine with one of Isak or Ekitike more often if he runs across the byline and swings crosses in with his stronger foot. While the pair are clearly impressive striking options for Liverpool to have, especially when they are fit and firing, they are not better than Man City star Haaland, according to Nusa. When asked to pick one or the other in a winner-stays-on format, in an interview with Fotmob, Nusa picked Haaland over both Isak and Ekitike.Erling Haaland has already given his thoughts on Liverpool transfer target Antonio Nusa(Image: (Photo by Joe Prior/Visionhaus via Getty Images))They were not the only elite stars to lose in the comparison game, as even the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane were snubbed in favor of the Manchester City star. Not only does it show how highly Nusa rates Haaland, having played alongside him, but it is often backed up in the clinical output he has in the Premier League. The 25-year-old bagged 27 goals in 35 appearances, once again making him the top-scorer in the division. Nusa was hardly going to pick against his own teammate on the international stage, but the statistics show he is among the most clinical around.Liverpool will be hoping that if Nusa joins, he can help get the most out of the club's current striker options, after a difficult season for both Ekitike and Isak. While the former hit the ground running, the introduction of the latter slowed down his scoring rate while they tried to find a way to fit both stars in at once, before injury ruled him out for the latter part of the campaign.Isak's issues compounded from a lack of pre-season, which impacted his rhythm, and a broken leg that was picked up in the middle of the season.Considering the money spent on the pair, Liverpool will be hoping to find a way to get both players fit and firing again to give Andoni Iraola the best chance possible next season.
