Two Liverpool players will face off to win the World Cup this Sunday after Alexis Mac Allister helped Argentina into a second consecutive final by beating England. After Victor Munoz and Spain qualified on Tuesday, Mac Allister followed to set up a meeting with his new Liverpool teammate in New Jersey. While Munoz is yet to play a minute for the Spanish, though, Mac Allister has been key for Argentina, and played the full 90 minutes of Wednesday’s dramatic semi-final. Having delivered a performance unrecognisable from the season he showed with the Reds, the Argentine press have rightly hailed what was an excellent performance from Liverpool‘s No.

Sadly for Liverpool fans, though, they will simply be left baffled that this is the same player they’ve been watching struggle to make five yard passes and last through a full match physically all season.
