Liverpool boss Arne Slot has explained why he has left Federico Chiesa out of his traveling party for tomorrow’s game against Galatasaray, with the winger carrying a knock after playing at the weekend. Chiesa was expected to earn a spot on the plane to Turkey on Monday, having been added to Liverpool’s European squad last week.

"We decided not to take him because in a few days it's Chelsea." Without Chiesa, Liverpool will be aiming to bounce back from the weekend defeat at Selhurst Park and make it two wins out of two in Europe.
Explaining what he wants his side to improve following Saturday's defeat to Palace, Slot said: "I think we always have to do, no matter if we win, lose or draw, what is asked of you if you want to compete for trophies, but let alone if you wear the Liverpool shirt, that is giving everything you have, and combine that with the best football you can play. "I think we created over the course of the game against Palace more chances than we’ve created in all the three games we played before Palace, but we conceded also much more chances than we did before we played Palace.
