Arne Slot has given an update on Alexander Isak after Liverpool confirmed the striker has had to undergo surgery on a broken leg. Isak went under the knife on Monday after suffering the injury during Saturday's win over Tottenham.

"It's going to be a long injury, for a couple of months," Slot said in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of the game against Wolves. "That's a big, big disappointment for him, and as a result of that, also for us." Slot was also asked whether Isak's injury would impact his plans for the January transfer window, although the Liverpool boss batted away suggestions that he may need to dip into the market again.

Two difficult ones again, two home games, that's really nice, so I think it's a time for the players we do have available to do what they've done so many times - to roll their sleeves up, and not only our players but our fans as well, to help us in the best possible way to get the results we want in the upcoming two games." "We always knew it would take him time, that's why he's so unlucky that he's now injured because we all saw with his goal against West Ham and this goal (against Tottenham) that he got closer and closer to the player he was last season at Newcastle."Story SavedYou can find this story in My Bookmarks.Or by navigating to the user icon in the top right.
