Arne Slot has confirmed Alexander Isak will train on Friday ahead of Sunday's clash against Manchester City. The striker has not played for the Reds since October 22, when he was forced off at half-time in the Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
He has subsequently missed four matches, but could be back in time for Sunday's trip to Manchester. Isak was called up to the Sweden squad earlier this week, while Slot said ahead of the Real Madrid match that the ex-Newcastle United man could be in line to feature against City, but would not start.
Speaking in Friday's press conference, the Liverpool head coach said he is expected Isak to be back in training. Isak is still searching for his first Premier League goal for the Reds since his record-breaking deadline-day move.
